Born with the instincts of a world-class detective, blogger Jade Blackwell never thought she’d solve more than a murder in a cozy mystery novel.

Jade Blackwell lives a quiet life, and that’s the way she likes it. Happily settled in a log home with her husband and daughter in the quaint village of Aspen Falls, Wyoming, she’s ready to dive into her new career as a ghostwriter and blogger and leave her life as a worn-down English professor far behind.

Jade’s promising career comes to an unexpected halt when a hacker targets her friend and fellow blogger, Liz, destroying her livelihood and reputation. But the intrusion doesn’t stop there. The mysterious hacker, known only as Connie, is a stalker, and now she has her eyes on Liz’s three children. Before Jade can even begin to investigate, Connie is found… dead in Liz's kitchen. To the sheriff's department, the case is cut and dry. Now Liz is in jail, and Jade is the only one who can free her.

Determined to prove Liz’s innocence, Jade teams up with Liz’s reluctant lawyer, Gabrielle Langdon, and the two women sleuths dive straight into the heart of this cozy mystery. What they learn will break the case wide open, unraveling Jade’s faith in humanity and the safety she feels in the Rocky Mountain hamlet she calls home.

Blogging is Murder Book 1 in the Jade Blackwell Cozy Mystery Series edition by Gilian Baker Mystery Thriller Suspense eBooks

This book was extraordinarily well-written, and even I, the pickiest of readers, could find only a couple of tiny editing fails. The story was well-researched and intelligent, also--the sort of story that provides the reader (or, in this case, at least non-techie readers) with just the right amount of information on a subject without going into overload with minute, boring detail. The characters were likeable--how can one fail to like a woman who agonizes about handing over the just-purchased, delicious chocolate cake to a friend in need, but does it anyway?--and the plot complex. Nevertheless, the novel did not just grab me and draw me in. I think this was because, as excellent a story as it was, it was also very slow. If a book had a temperature, I'd describe this one as "tepid". It started out with a bang, but then seemed to sort of bog down in daily activities before the pace finally picked up once more. I'd recommend this as a read for a lazy day at the beach or a cold winter afternoon indoors--any leisurely time when one isn't rushed or hurried.

I enjoyed this book very much. It kept me guessing till the end. The style of writing is to my liking. I would recommend this book to anyone of any age. Looking forward to the next book in the series.
I really enjoyed the book. It is an easy read. It wasn't too long, which was a plus for me because I don't have a lot of time to sit and enjoy a good book. I really liked the characters, they were real and believable! It was a fun story and I felt like I got to know all the characters in the book. I can't wait to see what Jade does next! I am waiting in anticipation for the next story!
Not bad. Would benefit from a touch more polish... and a bit less italics... But the mystery itself is decent.
Good plot with fun characters that you would like to know. Inquisitive women solving a problem for one of their friends. Believable. Good fun. Looking forward to more.
It was a good first book for this author. There wasn't much excitement in the plot. I found that it didn't hold my attention for long periods of time, so it took me quite a while to finish it. The story just cruises along, without a lot of thrill, which is fine. I liked the crazy neighbor Phyllis but felt the rest of the characters weren't particularly interesting.
Fast paced and expertly written. Like a
Christie novel,
I didn't know who did it till the end

Thanks so much for writing This book
Informative and entertaining. Stand-alone that is easy to follow. No graphic brutality or drag-you-down drama.

Interesting storyline with a focus on blogging and cyber security.

Believable characters with distinct personalities.

I wish the author had included links for further information on blogging and cyber security.

No desire to re-read this story. I may be interested in other works by this author.
